Carl our host was a welcome greeter when we arrived off the plane from Australia at 1.30am. We chose this property because it offered a shuttle service and very grateful to have someone to rely on after such an exhausting trip. Carl was a wealth of knowledge about where to visit to get the most out of our four nights stay in Vancouver. Visiting Lynn Canyon, Stanley Park, and Deep Cove were the highlights. The facilities were perfect for our stay, offering breakfast facilities for us to use. The location was perfect for us to drive in any direction without fuss. Free parking outside on the street in a quiet neighborhood. We had slippers supplied to wear inside the house which we didn't mind doing. Fisherman’s Wharf was a special treat, as we enjoyed a sunset with fresh Salmon for dinner. Carl and his family offered up their home to us and we were very blessed to share the space with them. Courteous, friendly and generous with their time in talking to us.

Have just had a very good stay in one Carl's guest rooms above the family home. We had the queen suite which also has a big walk in closet / dressing room and large bathroom with bath and shower .The guest breakfast room has a sofa to sit and enjoy a view of the garden and colourful pots on the deck. A few items are available for guests to make breakfast tea, coffee, cereal ,milk and fresh fruit. One or two items may be stored in the small fridge and there is a microwave but no sink or facilities for making meals. Carl also does airport pickups and can also if needed take guests to local places of interest. The area is in a quiet Richmond suburb within 8 minutes walk from a mall with a range of shops and eateries Cash for a damage deposit is required when checking in

The proprietor was welcoming and accommodating. The room was nicely decorated and he showed us where outlets were located. He explained how the exhaust fan worked in the washroom, pointed out the hair and body care dispensers, and provided room temperature and chilled bottles of water. He recommended places to eat within wslking distance, and made arrangements to accommodate our 4 a.m. airport check in at YVR airport. He offers transportation one way for $30 CAN and round trip for $55 CAN. He drove us to the YVR Airport at 3:30 AM so we could clear customs and the various check points in time for our flight home at 6 AM.

The room we had (#4) appears to be the master bedroom of the home. It had two queen beds, a huge walk-in closet, and a very large bathroom with both a tub and a separate shower stall. Shampoo and conditioner were provided, along with liquid soap (but no washcloth). The downstairs breakfast room had a small refrigerator where you could keep yogurt. There were bananas, apples, milk, tea bags, and a kettle to make tea available daily. There is a park across the street, and the home is in a neighborhood that felt safe and good for a stroll.

i arranged with the friendly owner to shuttle me to the airport the next morning, 12 minutes versus 45 minutes with public transport, we’ll worth the money. room was clean and tidy, I had my own bathroom, in the evening I was able to get tea in the dining room, breakfast cereal and milk was offered to make your own breakfast.
